Their Story
Waubetek Business Development Corporation is an Aboriginal-owned and controlled organization that has been investing in the Aboriginal business spirit across North-Eastern Ontario since 1989. Taking its name from the Ojibwe word for "the future," Waubetek serves as both a Community Futures Development Corporation and an Aboriginal Financial Institution, delivering business financing, commercial loans, and economic development services to First Nations entrepreneurs and communities. Over more than three decades, the organization has supported over 3,000 Aboriginal businesses across a wide range of industries, while also developing regional strategies in mining, fisheries, aquaculture, and tourism. Recognized with the Northern Ontario Business Award of Excellence (2016) and the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce Indigenous Enterprise of the Year Award (2020), Waubetek stands as a cornerstone institution for Indigenous economic self-determination in the region.
Project Overview
Waubetek Business Development Corporation needed a clean, professional website to serve Indigenous entrepreneurs and community members across North-Eastern Ontario. We built a multi-section platform that clearly presents their financing programs, application processes, community development initiatives, and resources, making it easy for users to find information and take action regardless of where they are in their business journey.
